Diamond Tail Quarter HorsesA little about our horse program:
We raise 10 to 14 colts a year, with the emphasis on quality not quantity.  We were lucky enough to start out with a world-class stallion in Frosty and have been evolving our program ever since.  We strive for performance horses and have had success in cutting, reined cow horses and all rodeo events (except roughstock) with horses competing at the NFR and have a CNFR breakaway National champion.

We raise horses with good bones and feet. They are "using" horses with speed and agility, cow sense, and dispositions that a pro or a novice horseman can get along with. They are built strong to last and to do the tough jobs.  No matter what you want your new horse to do for you, we have the right horse to fit your program.Ranch raised colts

However, these horses must all make good ranch or pleasure horses first and, for that, they must have good feet and bone and have enough substance to tackle any job.  The colts are born at the ranch headquarters and stay there until the mares are bred and are trailed to the Mountain where they are weaned in September.  The mares, yearlings, two-year olds and any extra saddle horses are left there until December if the snow permits.  This is rough, steep, rocky country and these horses learn early how to travel and keep their feet under them.

We start the colts at two but don't ask much until they are four.  They have to be athletic enough to perform at the highest level and still be dependable and safe when turned out for six months or even a year.  This is a working cattle ranch first and foremost, with the emphasis on cow work.  Flitner's Diamond Tail Ranch horses. These horses are exposed to all kinds of work, in all kinds of conditions and some of it can be very challenging.  We sell horses of all ages, but genetics aside, this environment and work background is what has created such a strong demand for our broke horses.

We sell all our horses private treaty and guarantee every sale.

We have several promising colts that may fit your needs.

Call today for further information. Or e-mail.  We will be happy to answer any questions you might have.
